Questions schools ask

What are the CBSE reference norms shown?

The CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws 2018 describe classrooms of at least 8 m by 6 m (about 500 sq ft), an optimum of 40 students per section and 1 sq m of floor area per student. They are shown for reference, not as legal advice.

Why are my seats per room lower than the section size?

Because the room’s usable area, divided by the area per student, allows fewer students than the section limit. The smaller of the two decides.

How are teachers required worked out?

Sections multiplied by weekly periods per section, divided by the periods one teacher takes a week, rounded up. Subject specialists can raise the real number.

Does it replace a building or fire safety check?

No. State and local building rules decide what is allowed. Use this to plan and to spot problems early.
